Saturday’s Wild-Panthers Game Postponed Due to COVID

Tomorrow's Minnesota Wild game against the Florida Panthers at the Xcel Energy Center in Saint Paul has been postponed by the NHL due to COVID-19 concerns.

At least five Florida players have tested positive for COVID this week, prompting the league to shut the team down.

The statement from the NHL says:

The National Hockey League announced today that it has extended the period of game postponements for the Calgary Flames through their game previously scheduled for Dec. 23 against Seattle. Additionally, due to concern with the number of positive cases within the last two days as well concern for continued COVID spread in the coming days, the Colorado Avalanche's and Florida Panthers' games also will be postponed at least through the scheduled completion of the League's Holiday Break-in the schedule on Dec. 26. The decision was made by the NHL's, the NHLPA's, and the Club medical groups.

The Wild had their Tuesday game against New Jersey postponed due to several Devils players testing positive.

No make-up dates for either of the Wild's postponed games have been announced.

The first-place Minnesota Wild is scheduled to visit the Dallas Stars Monday (12/20) night.
