Salvation Army Kettle Campaign Needs A Big Push
The local Salvation Army Kettle Campaign is winding down and entering its final days. With the final day for bell ringers coming on Monday, December 24, the campaign is still in need of numerous bell ringers to fill shifts. Two hour shifts are suggested but the campaign states on their Facebook page they'd appreciate even one hour of bell ringing. The campaign runs 8-8PM on Saturday, December 22 and then wraps up Monday. Kettles are set up at Hy-Vee, Cashwise, Fareway Meat and Grocery, Walgreens, Cabelas, Fleet Farm and Walmart. Ringers at Walmart are especially needed.
As of Thursday the campaign had raised $47,000 with a goal of $70,000. So there's some ground to be made up. Last year a total of $65,000 was raised.
The Bell Ringer Hotline is 507-649-2703.
