Rochester Man Donates $50,000 to Hurricane Harvey Efforts
Portions of Texas will never be the same after Hurricane Harvey and the rebuilding process will take years. Early estimates predict cleanup and reconstruction costs after 'Harvey' will be between 150 and 180 billion dollars - More expensive than Katrina and Sandy.
Americans from coast to coast are opening up their checkbooks to offer monetary assistance. A recent Red Cross fundraiser hosted by KTTC at Hyvee in Rochester collected over $100,000 in donations. The largest came from a man, who coincidentally shares the same name as the storm. Harvey, a retired Rochester firefighter, stopped by and used the last check in his checkbook to donate $50,000.
An amazing act of generosity. Well done, Harvey.
