River Springs Water Park in Owatonna opens for the 2020 season on Monday, June 15 offering limited programs. The facility will be available for lap swimming, water walking, water aerobics, and private swimming lessons, according to a posting on their Facebook page. Open swim or recreational use is not available for the time being.

The post states, "We are actively working on navigating the governor's new executive order regarding pools. We will be working on training our staff to be able to work towards opening our facility safely at 50% capacity."

The Monday through Friday schedule includes lap swim and water walking from 6 am to 10 am with a 30-minute limit per person. Private swim lessons are slated from 10 am to 7 pm. A water aerobics class begins at 1 pm and another at 2 pm. Each lasts an hour. Lap swim from 7 to 8 pm closes out each weekday.

Saturday and Sunday programming includes lap swim and water walking from 10 am until 2 pm in with a 30-minute limit. Private swim lesson run 1 to 5 pm.

Registration is requited for these programs. Specific information on each program and sign up details are found on their website.

Lake Kohlmier is open for swimming (with no lifeguards) and some equipment rentals. Owatonna Parks and Recreation is still taking sign-up for youth track and field and lacrosse. They also will host a movie in the River Springs parking lot June 19 and 20. The movie is free but registration is required.

Community pools in Kenyon, Wanamingo, and Northfield are set to open, according to a story posted by KDHL's Gordy Kosfeld.
