It's been quite a few years since I've owned a motorcycle, but every once in a while I get my hands on a bike for a day or two. The first thing I do is look for a nice long and winding road to take a leisurely ride on. There's nothing like the freedom a finely tuned bike makes me feel as the wind is whipping through what's left of my hair. Riding a cycle on a sunny day is a drug- and alcohol-free way of leaving behind all the crap you've had to deal with all week, month or year for just a brief moment and well worth it.

If you're lucky enough to have a bike, you can be a part of an enjoyable ride and help out a good cause this Saturday, July 16, during the first Heaven's Angels Bike Run and Show, at Faribault Harley-Davidson, to benefit Infants Remembered In Silence or IRIS. The day includes a three-hour pleasure ride through scenic southern Minnesota starting at noon, with food served up before and after the run. There will also be a bike show from 3-5PM with several trophies to be awarded.
