Rice County Man Dies in Vehicle Crash
A 20 year old Faribault man was killed in a single vehicle crash last night. The Rice County Sheriff's Office says 9:31 p.m. deputies were dispatched to an injury vehicle crash in the 3000 block of 195th Street West in Wells Township.
Upon arrival deputies found a vehicle rolled over in the south ditch of 195th which is west of Roberds Lake Boulevard. There were two occupants in the vehicle. The news release says, "The driver was not wearing a seatbelt and found to have been ejected from the vehicle during the crash. Medical intervention was attempted by law enforcement. Faribault Rescue and North Ambulance arrived on scene and took over medical care of the patient. He was pronounced deceased on scene at approximately 10:08 p.m."
The deceased was identified as Joshua Curtis Holter. The passenger, identified as Nolan Marin Warwick, 21, was transported and later released from District One Hospital in Faribault with non-life threatening injuries. Authorities say he was wearing a seatbelt.
The Rice County Sheriff's Office was assisted at the scene by North Ambulance, North Air Care, Faribault Rescue, Minnesota State Patrol and the Faribault Police Department.
Authorities add the investigation into the crash is ongoing.
