Proof There Is A Spirit Haunting Old Rochester Minnesota Building (PODCAST)
It was Thursday, October 31, 2019...Halloween in Downtown Rochester, Minnesota. I was recording a weekly podcast with Tessa Leung about Grand Rounds, their beer, their food...and their spirit, Laura.
Is Laura A Ghost or Is It A Spirit?
Talking in Tessa's office, upstairs and down the hall, she told me everyone there referred to Laura as a spirit. Here's how I set it up in 2019.
- Reason: Steeped in history, and famous for Laura the spirit who inhabits the building, we thought it was a perfect location for a Halloween show. And, if we're being honest, we wanted to see if Laura would join us for the show.
- Results: Laura joined us. For real.
- No Seriously: Scroll down to hear her interrupt our show!
Did you see A Spirit During the Show?
I sat on one side of some piled-up boxes. Tessa Leung, Grand Rounds Founder (now, co-founder of South By Southeast Brewing in Pine Island), sat on the other. Between us, the Zoom brand digital recorder.
Three times very odd things happened.
Tessa and I were just chatting and first, and in the recording below, you'll hear a pitcher fly off a shelf and hit the floor. That's where it starts, and two more times things just go flying. Not AT US, just around us. You can hear it on the podcast, and while Tessa is pretty chill about it, you can hear how uncomfortable it made me.
So, no, we did not see Laura, but we did see things flying off shelves and there was NO ONE near the shelf...or the desk...things just went flying!
