This police department over in eastern Wisconsin really put the 'serve' in their motto to protect and serve!

I've said many times how much respect I have for law enforcement officers. My dad was a police officer for over 30 years back in my hometown in Wisconsin, so I realize what a tough profession it can be to wear the badge and try to keep us safe everyday.

Which is why stories like THIS always bring a smile to my face. It's about what police officers, also back in my home state of Wisconsin, did earlier this week. It happened to the day shift at the Fox Valley Metro Police Department (FVMPD), which serves the Wisconsin cites of Kimberly and Little Chute in eastern Wisconsin. (They're located between Lake Winnebago and Green Bay, about four hours east of Rochester.)

In a post on their Facebook page, the FVMPD said officers unfortunately had to take a food delivery driver into custody-- which they did while he was in the middle of a delivery. So instead of the just throwing the food away (which happened to be ice cream), the officers completed the delivery, much to the surprise of the family who had placed the order.

Which is pretty cool, if you ask me. I mean, I know that law enforcement agencies both here in Minnesota, Wisconsin and across the country use the motto 'to protect and serve,' but this takes that whole 'serve' thing to a new level, doesn't it?

Shout-out to the FVMPD for their great work! Of course, that kind of service has also happened right here in our own backyard, too. Keep scrolling to see how members of the Rochester Police Department made a special 7-year-old's birthday special!

'Officer Ronan' Celebrates His 7th Birthday with the Rochester Minnesota Police Department

"Officer Ronan" (Ronan Ness's real name) celebrated his 7th birthday on Thursday, April 22, 2021, and since he loves pretending to be a police officer, his mom and dad lined up a special treat...but, they were only expecting one squad car...see the photos to see how many extra cookies had to be frosted real quick.
