‘Paranoid Man With Machete’ Arrested For Rochester Carjacking
Rochester, MN (KROC AM News) - Rochester police didn’t have to look too hard to find a carjacking suspect Friday night.
He returned to the scene of the crime while officers were still there.
The incident happened around 9:00 PM at the Arby’s restaurant on 37th St NW. Police were told a man had crashed into a vehicle near the restaurant and fled the scene on foot. A short while later, a man drove off with the victim’s car. The victim said the man was armed with a machete.
Officers recognized the vehicle the suspect had left behind because of earlier incidents and identified its owner as 40-year-old Kamau Hudson. According to a police report, Hudson “ lives in his vehicle, keeps a machete in the car and has a history of paranoia.”
Police say while an officer was talking with the victim, Hudson “pulled into the lot and parked.”
Hudson was taken into custody without incident.
