Huskies' girls' hockey held off Austin 5-4 on Dudley Otto Rink Saturday night. The Packers scored eight seconds into the game and went up 2-0 less than five minutes into the first period on Kat Holtz second goal. Owatonna patiently battled back, getting goals from five players and outshooting the Packers 43-26

Ezra Oien scored in the first period. Madelyn Simon, Macy Stanton and Kendra Bogen notched second-period goals for a 4-2 lead after two. Holtz completed her hat trick midway through the third. Samantha Bogen scored for OHS a half-minute later, pushing Owatonna's lead to 5-3.

The Packers scored with just over a minute remaining with their goalie pulled for the extra attacker. Austin didn't get another good look and Owatonna won 5-4 to improve to 6-0 on the season. The night ended with a skate with the players on Rink Buddy Night. The Huskies host top-ten Rosemount Monday, December 6 at 7 pm.
