There was plenty to cheer about on Saturday as the Owatonna Huskies rolled to a 51-7 victory over Austin to even their record at 2-2 at the midway point of the regular season. Jacob Ginskey got the call at quarterback, the third starter through the first four games. The sophomore threw for almost 200 yards and four touchdowns.

Senior Nick Williams hauled in three scores among his seven grabs. Sophomore Caleb Hullupeter had a TD catch. Running back Dylan Maas score twice and Mitch Seykora ran one in as well. Get the full game recap, courtesy of Jon Weisbrod through below:

The Huskies will try to spoil Northfield's homecoming on Friday, October 1 with play-by-play coverage on AM 1390 KRFO / 94.7 FM and the KRFO app. Check out the full Big Southeast standings. Mankato West hosts Rochester Mayo on Friday, October 1 in a battle of top-ten ranked, unbeaten squads.

Owatonna football announces the Tackle Cancer game will be held in conjunction with homecoming on Friday, October 8 versus Rochester JM. The website states, "As you all know cancer has touched all of us and currently we have a coach's wife (Kim Zappa) along with a player's mom (Beth Bogen) courageously fighting the battle."

Triton led most of the way against Pine Island, but found themselves trailing late. A field goal tied the game at 23-23 and forced overtime. The Cobras went on offense first and scored a touchdown. They faked the PAT and got a two-point conversion for a 31-23 lead. The Panthers scored a TD and the Cobras defensed the two-point pass for the 31-29 victory. Triton hosts St. Charles for homecoming on Friday, October 1.


Blooming Prairie improved to 4-0 with a dominating 47-0 victory over Waterville-Elysian-Morristown, jumping out to a 41-nothing halftime advantage. The top-ranked Awesome Blossoms host St. Clair/Mankato Loyola (3-1) for BP's homecoming Friday, October 1. Hear it on Kat Kountry 105 FM.

NRHEG dropped a 14-13 game at St. Clair Friday, staying close despite six turnovers by the Panthers. NRHEG (2-2) plays its homecoming game Saturday, October 2 against top-ten rated Gibbon-Fairfax-Winthrop.

Medford lost to GFW 44-6 on Friday. Tigers coach Jerome Johannes told us on the AM 1390 KRFO High School Coaches Show that GFW was relentless with their straight-T running attack. The Tigers go to WEM Friday night.
