Owatonna police talked a man off a rooftop recently after an alleged violation of an Order of Protection violation, according to the department's Just the Facts newsletter. The incident began when a female victim reported the man contacted her daughter. Officers confirmed an Order was in place for the action by the suspect.

Police went to State Avenue in Owatonna after a witness reported seeing the man. "Inside the unit, officers saw the suspect crawl out a window onto a rooftop. The officers negotiated with the suspect over the course of the next 45 minutes to come down from the roof." After he complied, officers arrested 27-year-old Trayantay Jones of Owatonna and charged him with Violating a Domestic Abuse Order for Protection, a felony.

RESIDENTIAL BURGLAR ARRESTED

Owatonna patrol officers were called to an incident of an intoxicated man entering an occupied apartment in downtown Owatonna and confronting the residents. "The suspect tried hugging the male, touched his chin and then punched him in the face with a closed fist. Arriving officers found the suspect in the stairwell and showing signs of intoxication," states Just the Facts.

While being taken into custody, the suspect "pulled away from our officers and a Taser was used." Thirty-five-year-old Christopher Prince of Owatonna was charged with a pair of counts of 1st Degree Burglary and 5th Degree Assault-all felonies."
