Owatonna Hockey Extends Shutout Streak [Prep Scores for Jan 27]
The Owatonna High School girls hockey team blanked Mankato West 9-0 Thursday at All Seasons Arena for their third straight shutout victory. It's the second time this season the Huskies have reeled off three consecutive shutouts. Ava Wolfe had Thursday's goose egg in goal and has four on the season. Mikayla Wilker has the other two.
The recent results are also a sign of Owatonna's dominance in the Big Nine. OHS has outscored their last three opponents 25-0. Molly Achterkirch had a hat trick Thursday. Ezra Oien scored twice. Owatonna (12-7-2 overall, 9-0-1 Big Nine) plays a big Section 1AA game Friday in Kasson against Dodge County at 7 pm.
The Owatonna boys buried Mankato West Thursday on Dudley Otto Rink at Four Seasons Centre 8-1. Ryan Gregory had two goals and a pair of assists. Casey Pederson scored twice with one assist. Wyatt Kriesel had a goal with two helpers. Levi Kubicek had three assists.
OHS has won three straight and host Rochester Century Saturday, January 29 at 3 pm at the Four Seasons Centre.
Owatonna wrestling split their matches at Mankato West Thursday, beating the Scarlets 54-24 after dropped a 39-29 decision to Rochester Mayo.
