A big congratulations to an Owatonna family for being picked for Target's winter ad featuring real families! The Zak family was picked out of "multiple" families competing for the family portion of Target's winter ad according to Anisha Pitzenberger Zak.

The Zak family's children currently are represented by a modeling agency, which is how they found out about this uniquely Minnesotan opportunity. Anisha sent us a message about the process and here is what she told us.

"For this particular project, they (Target) had requirements they were looking for.. for instance.. (The family) must be [a] biracial parents.. 2-3 kids within a certain age range.. etc. So we had to go up for a casting (audition), there were about 30 families maybe? and then they picked us!"

In an online MSN article about the Target family clothing line writer Caitlyn Fitzpatrick states people already have matching Christmas pajamas and now Target was letting you "take the trend outdoors with matching puffer jackets. Every member of your family (including your dog or cat) will be styling and staying warm with a collection of coats."

Pretty cool. In a social media post about the opportunity, Anisha joked that the ad might just be their Christmas card this year.

H/T to Anisha Pitzenberger Zak for the story idea.
