Orville John Brase, 80, of Owatonna, MN, passed away peacefully surrounded by family on April 20, 2024, at Abbott Northwestern Hospital.

Orville was born November 25, 1943, to Henry and Florence (Gasner) Brase. He graduated from Owatonna High School in 1962. He married Sandy Resler on April 25, 1963, in Owatonna and together they raised three children: Tami, Doug, and Kim.

Orville worked as a plant manager for many different manufacturing companies including OMC, Oriole, and Slidell, Inc. He was a hobby farmer, having many different animals.  In retirement, Orville drove a bus for the Owatonna Bus Company. He enjoyed hunting, card club, dancing on the weekends, wood working, attending grandkids sporting events, playing bingo and spending time with family.

Orville is survived by his wife of almost 61 years, Sandy; three children: Tami (Tom) Steiner, Doug (Jessica) Brase, and Kim (Greg) Gauthier; nine grandchildren: Tomas (Kailey) Hull, Heather (Cody) Alexander, Bridgett, Coco and Gigi Steiner, Ashlee (Brockton) Coxe, Brennon (Madi) Brase, and Jacob and Logan Gauthier; four great-grandchildren: Bentley, Bradley, Wyatt and Brexly; two brothers, Dal and Denny; and several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, and one sister, Marlene.

Friends may greet the family Tuesday, April 23, 2024, from 5:00-7:00 PM at Brick-Meger Funeral Home (1603 Austin Road, Owatonna) and one hour before the service. A Celebration of Life will be 11:00 am Wednesday April 24, 2024, at the funeral home.
