Do you like your job? Do you think you’re getting paid enough? Do you have a job that your child self would think is SUPER KEWL? Have you always fantasized about dropping a Will Smith line from Independence Day in real life? Did you watch Guardians of the Galaxy and think to yourself, I could totally do that.

If you answered ‘yes’ to any of those questions, I have some exciting news for you! Maybe. I can’t speak for you, but I’m pretty sure I’m not qualified for this gig.

According to Business Insider, NASA is currently looking for a Planetary Protection Officer to make sure us pesky humans don’t contaminate planets, moons, and objects in space – as well as prevent any alien microbes spreading to Earth. If you’ve watched War of the Worlds, you know that can be a whole thing.

The best part? This job pays up to $187,000. I’m assuming you have to pay for your own laser pistol, but I’m looking into it.

So what are the qualifications to be a real-life Space Lord? You need at least one year experience as a top-level civilian government employee, along with “advance knowledge” of planetary protection. I’m pretty sure that leaves me out. Oh well. There’s still my childhood dream of being Batman.
