Marcia Blank was born in Brooklyn and enjoyed music. Along with her family, two sisters and one brother, she went to high school in Queens. She played piano, guitar, violin and flute, plus she was in cheerleading and dance corp, according to spectropop.com. After graduation, she recorded a top 10 hit under the name Marcie Blane in 1962, according to waybackattack.com.

Marcie Blane recorded "Bobby's Girl," and it was also recorded in the U.K. by Susan Maughan; both songs were top 10 hits. Bobby Rydell released his own version.

Blane, under contract, recorded "Little Miss Fool," "You Gave My Number to Billy" and "Why Can't I Get a Guy," but they did not chart. In 1964, "Bobby Did" became her sixth single. It was written by Neil Diamond, then unknown. She then released "The Hurtin' Kind" in 1965.

Marcie Blane, feeling uncomfortable with the attention and the pressure, did not go any further with her musical career. According to spectropop, Marcie married, had two children and went to work in the educational field with her education from Queens College.
