The current Farm Bill ends in 2018. That means Congress is already in the process of writing the next Farm Bill. One of the forums at Farmfest next week will be a hearing on what should be in the next Farm Bill. The forum is called "The Next Farm Bill Conversations In the Field." It will be hosted by U.S. House Ag Committee Chairman Michael Conaway (Texas) and U.S. House Ag Committee Ranking Member Collin Peterson (Minnesota).

There will be only five or six of these Farm Bill meetings in the United States. It is quite unique that one of those will be in Minnesota at Farmfest next week. Farmfest is coming up next Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday at the Gilfillan Estate near Redwood Falls. The Farm Bill hearing will be Thursday morning beginning at 9:30. What do you think should be in the next Farm Bill? Here is your chance to let the Chairman of the House Ag Committee know what you feel should be in the next Farm Bill.
