New MN Agriculture License Plate Benefits 4-H and FFA

It took a while, I am not sure why, but as of last Friday February 18, 2022 Minnesotan's can purchase a special Minnesota agriculture license plate! I am sure you have seen the Minnesota critical habitat license plates, or maybe you have one! I am quite sure the Minnesota Agriculture license plate program was patterned after that program? The new plate was introduced last Friday at a special program with representatives of Minnesota 4-H, FFA and Commissioner Thom Peterson.

The new plates can be ordered at a deputy registrar office or through the mail using a special plate application form. The plate costs $15.00 plus the minimum contribution of $20.00 and a $11.00 filing fee. Then a portion of the contribution will go to support Minnesota 4-H and the Minnesota FFA Foundation. The plate was inspired by more than 100 sketches from Minnesota FFA and 4-H members.

The hands on the plate holding seedlings relates to the 4-H pledge of "my hands to larger service." The rising sun is a "token of a new era in agriculture" that is honored in FFA ceremonies. So when you have to renew your license tabs, or maybe sooner ask about the Minnesota agriculture license plates and help support Minnesota's 4-H and FFA programs!
