In the growing concern of the COVID-19 pandemic, the remainder of the Girls State Basketball Tournament and Boys Section and State Basketball Tournaments have been canceled.

Yesterday, the MSHSL made the announcement to limit the number of spectators for the remainder fo the Girls State Basketball Tournament, along with the Boys Section Tournament and now today the Minnesota State High School League made the decision to cancel the remaining games, according to John Millea of the MSHSL.

This means Section 1A Blooming Prairie and Section 1AA champion Caledonia will not compete at the State Tournament next week. The MSHSL signaled that "safety for all concerned is paramount."

The Minnesota State High School League also postponed the Section Speech Tourmanets that were scheduled for March 15-21 indefinitely, according to a release from Tim Leighton of the MSHSL.

According to the MSHSL website, there will be more information and additional details on other upcoming events, including Spring Activities, which will be shared later today.
