Minnesota State Fair Reveals 2022 Free Entertainment Lineup
It's crazy to think summer is almost here. That means nice weather and of course, the biggest event of the season: the Minnesota State Fair!
The Minnesota State Fair is known for its food, drinks and concerts! They start revealing their big concert lineups months in advance. In early February, they announced their first headliners. Zac Brown Band will take the stage at the fair on Friday, September 2nd.
They have announced other big stars since. Earlier this month, three new headlining acts were announced: Portugal. The Man, The Beach Boys and Disney Princess: The Concert. There is definitely something for everyone this year.
Aside from the big Grandstand shows, the Minnesota State Fair also has free entertainment every single day of the event. They shared all of the free entertainment coming this summer on Tuesday (May 24th).
The free entertainment lineup will include 900 shows with over 100 acts taking the stage at some point. As mentioned, all of this entertainment is completely free with the price of admission.
You may recognize some of the major names taking the stage as part of the free lineup. One that stuck out to me is Caitlyn Smith. She is an established country star from Minnesota. She opened for George Strait at U.S. Bank last year and has been nominated for a few awards recently. Another big name is Eddie Montgomery of famous country duo Montgomery Gentry.
Other musical acts include Dire Straits Legacy, The Family Stone, Low Cut Connie, The Good, The Bad And The Funky and Annie Mack. The list of musical acts is long and there is an artist and a genre for everyone.
The list of free entertainment doesn't just include music, though. There are also special shows you can only find at the Minnesota State Fair. The lineup this year includes the Timberworks Lumberjack Show, a fiddle contest and a stunt dog show.
Interested in any of these shows? You can see the full free entertainment lineup on the Minnesota State Fair's website. There are six different stages across the fairgrounds, which means there is always something going on for free!
The Minnesota State Fair kicks off on August 25th and continues through early September. The fair will look a bit different this year, with a price hike on general admission tickets and different hours.
During the fair last year, scammers were trying to take advantage of fair-goers with a fake ticket scam. The Minnesota State Fair warned people headed to the fair to only purchase tickets from certain locations to avoid being a victim of a scam like this.
