Minnesota Prep Football Playoffs Open Over 3 Days & Across the State

With games spread across three days and many locations, you could catch three, or even four, state football tournament quarterfinal games this week. This week's winners of the Minnesota State High School League first round advance to US Bank Stadium for the semifinals and Prep Bowl. That will make it much easier, and warmer, to watch multiple games.

Brackets are not seeded for state for most classes making for some intriguing first-round matchups. Maybe none more so than Class 5A where No. 1 Mankato West (10-0) faces No. 2 St. Thomas Academy (10-0) Saturday at 3 pm at Prior Lake High School.

The Scarlets are at state for the 13th time and have won four titles. The Cadets are making their 25th appearance and have five Prep Bowl finishes with one state championship.
