St. Paul, MN (KROC-AM News) - The list of Minnesotans who have had so-called "breakthrough" COVID-19 infections now includes Lieutenant Governor Peggy Flanagan.

She posted on Twitter this morning that she had tested positive for COVID-19 on Friday after apparently becoming infected while caring for her eight-year-old daughter, who contracted the viral illness and tested positive last week. Flanagan also noted that she and her husband are fully vaccinated against COVID-19.

Flanagan's social media posts indicate that she and her husband were both staying home to take care of their daughter and had been getting tested regularly. She says the results all came back negative until Friday when she had a positive result to a rapid test that was confirmed by a PCR test.

Flanagan described her symptoms as "cold-like" and says she will be staying home to recover to make sure she does not infect anyone else. she also stated she is looking forward to getting a booster shot for herself and having her children vaccinated once she and her daughter feel better.
