3rd District American Legion Baseball Director Bruce Young of Apple Valley notified coaches the Legion Baseball Board met over the weekend.  They determined all tryouts, practices and games would be suspended until further notice.

Young emphasized the 2020 season was not canceled, just suspended at this time until further notice.  The next board meeting is scheduled for May 9th after the Governor's current stay home order is scheduled to end (May 4th).

The National Headquarters office has already announced there will be no Regional or World Series games in 2020.

Young encouraged 3rd District coaches to get their paperwork completed as quickly as possible but told coaches to wait to complete their background check and child safety training until after the status of the season is determined.

The reason he states in a email to coaches, "We are specifically asking that you wait to proceed with these two until after our May status review to avoid their expense until necessary.

Many of the area high school baseball coaches we visited with during our coaches shows on KDHL last Saturday had expressed hope that if there is not a high school baseball season players could play Legion ball.
