Deer River, MN (KROC AM News) - A fundraiser has been started to benefit the family of a Minnesota sheriff’s deputy who died this week from complications related to COVID-19.
The GoFundMe site is being used to cover funeral and other expenses.
The posting says Itasca County deputy Jayme Williams fell ill with Covid on Dec. 11th. His wife took him to a hospital four days later and he was placed in intensive care on Dec. 16th.
He developed pneumonia and last Sunday it was discovered he was bleeding internally from a lacerated liver. Williams underwent surgery the next day. During the operation, he went into cardiac arrest. Although he was revived, he later died after his lungs filled with blood.
