Minneapolis (KROC AM News) - They won’t be in the classroom Tuesday. They will be outside their schools with their picket signs.
Teachers in the Minneapolis School District are on strike.
Talks on a new labor agreement ended Monday with no deal and the teachers union announced the strike would begin Tuesday. That means thousands of parents are now scrambling to make other arrangements for their kids. The district has an enrollment of around 29,000.
Meanwhile, it’s a normal school schedule across the river in St Paul where the district and teachers came to terms on a tentative settlement Monday. St Paul teachers were also planning to strike Tuesday if they did not have a new agreement.
