Marvin Emil Smisek, 84, surrounded by his loving family, passed away on February 10th at Mala Strana nursing home in New Prague, MN.

His parents, Ludmilla (Sticha) and Emil Smisek, welcomed him on May 24, 1939 to start his earthly journey on the farm in Forest Township, Rice County, MN. His brother, Melvin, joined the family in September 1943. In 1949, they moved to their home in Webster.

On September 18, 1962, he married Adeline Holey but later they divorced. They had 7 children together.

He was an Army veteran and served in Germany. Marvin earned to be an auto mechanic from his dad, Emil. He was a truck mechanic for Webster Creamery then worked for Schreyer Motors in Faribault, MN for many years. He started his own mechanic shop in Lonsdale and also worked part time hauling livestock. He loved farming and driving tractors. He helped his cousin, Arnie Nerud, and his in-laws on their farms. He worked for Malecha Farms driving semi, tractors, skid loader and more. He was known for being the best driver and hardest worker they had.

He enjoyed playing euchre his whole life and at all of the tournaments in the area. He enjoyed fishing, gardening and being outdoors cutting wood as well. He will be remembered as a hard worker, best mechanic, and all around nice guy.

He is survived by his children: Brenda (Clint) Pederson, Connie Theis, Diane (David) Dodds, Pam (Tony) Ramm, Mark (Camelle) Smisek and Charles (Jolene) Smisek; 8
grandchildren: Chaz, Ben, Courtney, Josh, Coltan, Logan, Anissa and Emma, 5 great-grandchildren: Mya, Justin, Taylor, Gavin and Zeda, his brother Melvin (Gail), his 2 nieces Shelly (Larry) Vosejpka, Kim (Brad) Jirik, many other relatives and
friends, especially Art Jindra. He was preceded in death by his parents, son Michael and grandson Zachary Theis.

There will be a grand celebration of his life this summer.
