The BCA says 62-year-old Randall Reeve of Blaine continues to be treated for his injuries but is expected to recover.

He has been charged with felony assault for firing his gun at officers who were called to a residential neighborhood. Reeve is also accused of confronting a couple with a shotgun and then firing rounds into the air.

When officers arrived, Reeve was found in his home.

The BCA says “ For several minutes, the defendant repeatedly opened the door, yelled obscenities at the officers as well as threats to kill them, and fired the gun both into the air and in the direction of the officers. The defendant appeared to be shooting both a shotgun and a rifle. Officers later located a bullet hole in one of the squad cars parked nearby.”

Several minutes later, an Anoka County deputy shot Reeve.  He is expected to be taken into custody after he is released from the hospital.
