Reckitt Benckser Group, the maker of Lysol and Dettol, are advising people to not inject their disinfectants into the human body. Under any circumstances.


As a global leader in health and hygiene products, we must be clear that under no circumstance should our disinfectant products be administered into the human body (through injection, ingestion or any other route).

 

RB issued this statement on Lysol's twitter over the weekend after "recent speculation and social media activity".  With out specifically stating, this was meant as a response to President Trumps statements about "injecting" disinfectants into the body as a means to combat COVID-19.

White House Corespondents have said that the media has taken President Trumps comments the wrong way tp generate a media storm. While President Trumps comments were a little "vague", researchers are currently working on testing disinfectants on Coronavirus saliva and respiratory fluids from humans. This comes from a Trump administration official, according to Associated Press.
