Four players reached double-digit points as the Blooming Prairie girls basketball team won 60-43 at Lyle/Pacelli Monday night. The victory was number 300 in the career for BP coach John Bruns, "I've had a lot of awesome kids, fantastic assistant coaches, and an unbelievably supportive family over the years to reach this milestone."

This is Bruns seventh season as girls coach for the Awesome Blossoms after 16 seasons as the boys head coach. His overall record is now 300-260. That includes a 98-60 as the girls coach and 202-200 at the helm for the boys. Bruns has also served 23 years as the cross country coach and has coached track and field, golf and softball in various roles for Blooming Prairie.

On Monday, his senior daughter Bobbie led the way with 23 points and six assists. Anna Pauly scored 14 with nine rebounds. Addison Doocy scored ten with four assists. Haven Carlson chipped in ten points for Blooming Prairie (5-4).

Bruns said, "We got a good road win tonight in spite of missing two starters due to injury and illness. LP (Lyle/Pacelli) did a good gob pressuring us into some turnovers. We had a lot of different kids in new positions so it took some time to get things heading in the right direction...Overall, this was a good win for our team and it will make us a deeper team in the future."

Blooming Prairie hosts Medford Thursday, January 6.

Bruns' milestone win is only one of the feel-good stories for BP this winter. Bobbie battled back from an off season leg injury suffered in a car accident in order to play her senior season. She reached the 1,000-point mark in the season opener.

Finding an affordable house in Minnesota is not an easy task. If you don't like living by people and you are ok with some road noise (ok, probably a lot!), I may have found the perfect starter home for you in Minneapolis. It's pretty much the Minnesota version of the movie "Up"...everything just built right around it, including some major roads that surround the property.
