The Kenyon-Wanamingo Knights will go toe to toe with the Lester Prairie-Grey Eagle/Browerville Wolves for the Class A State Championship tonight.  The last Guillotine rankings had the Wolves #1 and the Knights #4.  Kenyon-Wanamingo was the #3 seed and LPGE-Browerville #1.

In their opening match the Knights tallied 8 pins en route to a 52-18 win over the Aitkin Gobblers.  K-W then tangled with #2 seed and #2 ranked Tracy-Milroy-Baalson/Westbrook- Walnut Grove.  The Knights had 4 pins in that match and every move Head Coach Matt Ryan and his assistants made worked out in a 40-20 win.

Coach Ryan told us before the tournament his team was peaking at the right time.  In particular he liked the senior leadership of the team.

Our Held Bus of Kenyon Knights of the first match were the eight wrestlers with pins, Jeroen Matson, Alec Johnson, Nathan Bauer, Seth Broussard, Tyler Ryan, Logan Quam, Kaya Lindell and Jesse Jackson.

The Held Bus wrestlers of the semifinal victory were Isaiah Thompson, Nathan Bauer, Tyler Ryan, Kya Lindell and Jesse Jackson.

Paul Shea and I will have the title match beginning 6:45 p.m. on KAT KOUNTRY 105, 104.9 FM and on the FREE KAT KOUNTRY app.
