The Kenyon Rose Fest community celebration runs Friday through Sunday with most of the events on Friday and Saturday.  KDHL had a special afternoon broadcast today from the Security Insurance Agency previewing the annual event.

Guests included Kenyon Attorney and longtime Shriner Franklin Peterson who has been in charge of the parade.  Kenyon Municipal Liquor Store Manager Denzil Slaten, Kenyon Police Chief Lee Sjolander, Kenyon Veterans Color Guard member Mike "Mac" McDonald, Kenyon VFW, American Legion Commander Scott Quamme.

Quamme has been painting the front entrance and other outside areas of the VFW just in time for the community celebration.

The Rose Fest Committee prides themselves in having some event for any age to enjoy.  From a Classic Car Show to a Free Pool Party.

Citywide garage sales take place Friday and Saturday with no set hours listed.  In addition here is what is scheduled for Friday, August 16, 2019 at Kenyon Rose Fest:

  • 10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.  Book Sale in City Council Chambers
  • 1:00 p.m.  KW Knights Booster Club Golf Tournament
  • 4:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. Beer Garden and Hog Roast behind VFW
  • 5:30 p.m. to 8:00 p.m.  Wine/Beer Tasting at the Gunderson House
  • 7:00 p.m.  Free Challenge Course at Depot Park
  • 5:00 to 6:00 p.m. All ages Bingo at the VFW
  • 8:00 p.m.  to 10:00 p.m. FREE Pool Party at Municipal Swimming Pool
  • 8:30 p.m. to Midnight live music outside the Kenyon Muni features Mountain Ash. Must be 21, there is no cover charge.
