Juliana Spinler, 88, Owatonna
Juliana Spinler, lifelong resident of Steele County, MN, passed away on August 13, 2024, at the age of 88.
Mass of Christian Burial will be August 19, 2024, at 11:00 AM at Christ the King Church (205 2nd Ave NW, Medford, MN.) Friends may greet the family from 3:00 – 5:00 PM Sunday, August 18, 2024, at Medford Funeral Home, (310 Central Avenue East, Medford, MN), with a parish rosary at 5:00 PM. Visitation will continue Monday from 10:00 – 10:50 AM at Medford Funeral Home, followed by a procession to the church. Burial will follow the Mass at Resurrection Cemetery in Medford.
Julie was born to parents Edward and Elizabeth (Kubicek) Kubat in Somerset Township. She attended country school then graduated from Owatonna High School in 1955. In 1957, she married Jacob Spinler at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Owatonna, MN. The couple made their home in Merton Township where they raised three daughters. Julie worked on the farm alongside Jake until they retired from farming in 1997. She then worked for the canning company in Kenyon, MN, until they closed. She worked various other jobs through a temp service for many years.
She was a member of the VFW Auxiliary in Owatonna and a 4H leader for many years. She was very involved with her family, especially with her granddaughters. Julie would take them shopping, swimming, and out for lunch. She was an avid reader, enjoyed crossword puzzles, and liked vacations, once she got there.
Julie is survived by daughters: Janet Springer, Judy (James) Brady, and Jerine (Dan) Plaisance; grandchildren Elizabeth (Abe) Kasper, Kelsey (Steven) Pfeifer, Rachel (Jon) Gasner, Janine (Tony Eliason) Brady, Jennifer Brady, Jessica (Eric) Weegman, and Jordan (John Healy) Brady; and great-grandchildren. Additional survivors include siblings Margaret (Jim) Deml, Lorriane Jirele, Betty Bennett, Ed (Gail) Kubat, and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Jake, her parents, one brother George Kubat, son-in-law Ed Springer, and granddaughter Hannah Plaisance.
