Janice Schultz, 58, Owatonna

Janice Schultz passed away Monday, July 8, 2024, at Benedictine Living Community in Owatonna, MN, after a two-year battle with cancer.

Friends may greet the family Sunday, July 14, 2024, from 3:00-5:00 PM at Brick-Meger Funeral Home (1603 Austin Road, Owatonna) and one hour prior to the funeral service at the church. Funeral service will be Monday, July 15, 2024, at 11:00 AM at Trinity Lutheran Church (609 Lincoln Ave S, Owatonna).

Janice was born at Immanuel St. Joseph’s Hospital in Mankato, MN, on November 14, 1965, to parents Henry and Bernice (Holtz) Wagner.

She was baptized at Trinity Lutheran Church in Janesville, MN on November 28, 1965.   She was confirmed at St. Paul Lutheran Church in Waseca, MN, on May 18, 1980.

The family lived in Janesville, where Janice attended school until the end of third grade.  The family then moved to Waseca, where Janice was a member of the graduating class of Waseca High School in 1984.  On July 21, 1986, Janice and Rick Schultz were married in Waseca.

Janice held various jobs at Erickson’s Grocery and Bird’s Eye General Foods in Waseca, Hardee’s in Forest City, IA, Cashwise Foods, and Lakeside Foods/Owatonna Canning Factory in Owatonna.  But, most of all she enjoyed working with children at daycare centers and being a nanny.

She was a Trinity Lutheran Church Nursery Attendant for nearly 20 years and a SEMCAC Board member for over 25 years.

Janice enjoyed reading, cross stitching and spending time with family especially with her grandchildren.

Janice is survived by her children; Heidi (Nick) Ramirez, Heather (Luke) Mueller, Brandon Schultz, Ciara (Fiancé Keith Haskell) Schultz, SkiAnn (Mark) Christiansen, Rick C. Schultz, David Schultz; grandchildren, Jasmine, Marina, Adrienne, Amelia, Noah, Eli, Hayden, Ellianna, Taylor, Parker, Spencer, Patrick, Charlie, Jocelyn, Logan, Lilly, and Olivia; sisters, Ann Estes and Nancy Danielson.

She was preceded in death by parents, husband Rick, and brother Henry.
