
Valleyfair Now Hiring 1,600 Workers for 50th Anniversary Season
The biggest amusement park in Minnesota is getting ready to open for the 2026 season and is looking to hire a lot of workers to help celebrate its 50th anniversary.
Valleyfair has been Minnesota's lone amusement park for the past five decades. It's been an iconic part of the North Star State, standing tall along Highway 169 in Shakopee since it first opened back in 1976.

Valleyfair features more than 75 rides, including eight roller coasters, Planet Snoopy featuring 15 children’s rides, and is home to Soak City, a seven-acre water park filled with slides, a wave pool, lazy river, and children’s water features.

Back in 2024, Valleyfair announced that it had new owners, as a merger deal between Cedar Fair and Six Flags officially closed. This means Valleyfair has been part of the Six Flags Entertainment Corporation for nearly two years already. And if you're looking for an extra paycheck this summer, Valleyfair is looking for you.
Now Hiring: Valleyfair Looking to Fill 1,600 Positions for 2026
According to a Valleyfair release, the park is planning on hiring over 1,600 employees for its 50th anniversary season, which begins May 10, 2026.
Valleyfair continues its long-standing tradition as one of Minnesota’s most iconic summer workplaces, offering opportunities for students, teachers, retirees, and returning employees.

Valleyfair just took part in parent company Six Flags' national hiring week earlier this month, but is still looking for employees. Valleyfair noted that the park is hiring for 'a variety of positions, including rides, food and beverage, aquatics, retail, park services/cleanliness team, and specialty roles such as EMTs, security, and guest services,' the release said.
Summer Jobs at Valleyfair: Pay Rates and Employee Benefits
Valleyfair said positions at the park start at $15.50 and hour with select positions paying $20 hour, and include free admission to every Six Flags park as well as discounts on food and merchandise, exclusive employee events, flexible scheduling, and more.
