National Film Crew Spotlighting This Unique Rochester Restaurant
Camera crews are heading back to town for another local restaurant showcase. Twigs Tavern & Grille is the latest Rochester eatery to partner with America’s Best Restaurants, a national media company, for an upcoming promotional feature.
It's worth mentioning that America's Best Restaurants works a little differently than shows like Diners, Drive-Ins and Dives. Restaurants partner with ABR as part of a paid promotional program, this isn't an editorial selection or a surprise visit from a panel of culinary judges.
Paid promotion or not, Twigs deserves to be spotlighted. Their journey from a standard hotel eatery to premiere dining destination is incredible.

Turning Bad News Into a Massive Success at Twigs in Rochester
Twigs is located inside the Centerstone Plaza Hotel near the Mayo Clinic area. They first opened back in 2007, but the real turning point came in 2009 when owner Michelle Salz was diagnosed with Celiac disease. What felt like terrible news at the time actually sparked the best thing to happen to the restaurant.
To completely eliminate any threat of cross-contamination, they took the massive step of building a completely separate, dedicated gluten-free kitchen from scratch.
Because of that investment and a bunch of training, 99% of the menu can be made completely gluten-free, giving local diners total peace of mind. Twigs is the destination for gluten-free dining in Rochester.
When the America's Best Restaurants Roadshow team rolls into town, they will feature owners, Myron and Michelle, talking about that journey. And, producers also plan to showcase:
- Gluten-Free Fried Chicken
- Belgian Waffles topped with that signature Bacon Sriracha Cremosa sauce and homemade honey butter
- Their beautiful, award-winning outdoor garden patio
