The Two State Parks in SE Minnesota with Beaches
Southeast Minnesota is a beautiful area of the state, and we've got 11 state parks in the area where we can enjoy that beauty. But did you know that only two of them have a beach? I know!
Maybe it shouldn't be all that surprising, SE Minnesota has some of the fewest natural lakes in the entire state.
Here are the two state parks in our neck of the woods where you can have a fun beach day.

Southeast Minnesota State Parks with Beaches
Lake Louise State Park in Le Roy doesn't have a super big beach but it's still a nice looking spot to hang out and enjoy some sun. The beach isn't at the campground, but it's just a short walk away (plus a parking lot if you're driving in) with plenty of space in the picnic area to set up a homebase for your beach day.
Whitewater State Park in Altura has a nice beach so spend the day at. I've been to Whitewater quite a few times and I've never been on the beach myself, but I've gone by it on hikes and it looks nice. There seems to be a good amount of space and it's spring-fed, so the water will be pretty cool. Nice for a hot day. This beach is also not right by the campground but, again, a short walk away. Otherwise there's also a parking lot right there.
