Hy-Vee was established in 1930 in Beaconsfield, Iowa. Nowadays, you can find Hy-Vee grocery stores throughout the Midwest.
They have 280 locations spread across states such as Iowa, Illinois, Kansas, Minnesota, Missouri, Nebraska, South Dakota, and Wisconsin, with further expansion plans in the pipeline.

This week, the supermarket chain revealed plans to acquire the Strack & Van Til Food Market chain, which consists of 22 locations.
Jeremy Gosch, Hy-Vee’s CEO, noted that both companies share common principles. He highlighted Strack & Van Til’s customer-centered approach and vision to ‘make lives easier,’ which resonates with Hy-Vee’s values and growth plan.

Gosch said he is excited to welcome Strack & Van Til’s approximately 2,800 employees into the Hy-Vee family. Hy-Vee employs 75,000 people and has been named one of America’s Top 3 favorite grocery stores.

Strack & Van Til, located in northwest Indiana, will retain its name and function as a subsidiary under Hy-Vee, Inc.
