When my youngest came home from school last fall, her steps were slow, her backpack heavy, and her eyes foxed on the ground. The redness around her eyes was part of the reason why. A rough start to the school year - and kids who chose to pick on her - had taken its toll. We knew something had to change.

Fun Pet Adoption Event At The Apache Mall in Rochester, Minnesota

Just last week, the Olmsted County Sheriff's Office added two new dogs to their K9 unit...and they were adopted from Rochester's Paws and Claws Humane Society. Not only are the pups, Molly and Oliv super adorable, but they are the going to have very important jobs in our community. If you missed it, check out the story my co-worker, Carly Ross, wrote, including photos of these adorable pups.

The new K9 pups are also great examples of pet adoption, and while you may not be providing a home to the next K9 dog, you could be providing a forever home to an animal just waiting to be loved.

Right now, there are close to 45 different pet adoption services and shelters in the state of Minnesota that support cats, dogs, and other animals. You don't have to visit or check all of those spots out though to find your next family member.
