About 94% of homes in the United States have this staple item in their pantry - peanut butter.  Unfortunately, a recall was just issued across 40 different states for this popular food item.  Below are the details to know.

Latest Recall By The FDA Includes 20,000 Peanut Butter Products Sold In The United States

Thank goodness for inspectors!  A new update was recently issued by the U.S. Food and Drug Administration for over 20,000 peanut butter products sold in the United States.  This recall was first initiated in April of 2025, but was just bumped up to a Class II on February 12th.

The reason for the recall?  Inspectors found pieces of blue plastic in a filter...and that blue plastic shouldn't be there.

Based on the data from the U.S. Food and Drug Administration and USAToday.com, the peanut butter recalled was manufactured by Ventura Foods.  The products were sold under a variety of different multiple brand names.

The items to look for related to this recall include the following:

  • Creamy peanut butter packets, in sizes of 0.5-ounce and 0.75-ounce cups, and 1.12-ounce packs.
  • Twin packs combining creamy peanut butter with strawberry jam, in 1.12-ounce and 1-ounce cups
  • Twin packs combining creamy peanut butter with grape jelly, in 1.12-ounce and 1-ounce cups
