New(ish) Restaurant Now Open at the Apache Mall in Rochester, Minnesota
Back in 1969, the Apache Mall opened in Rochester, Minnesota. Fast forward to 1972 and this mall in the Med City was now the third-largest shopping center in the Land of 10,000 Lakes.
I've been in Rochester since 2000 and one of the best additions that I've seen come to the Apache Mall is Scheels, which opened up in 2015. This anchor spot was previously held by Sears, which closed in 2014.
Just a few weeks ago, another huge announcement was shared about a new tenant for the old Herberger's location at the Apache Mall, which closed back in 2018. Today, the main entrance inside the mall for this huge store is disguised as a wall. Next time you grab a coffee at the Caribou in the Apache Mall, look for the large wall by it...that is where the entrance was. Not sure if that is going to open back up but that space will soon be home to the popular Sky Zone Trampoline Park.

If you are out doing some Christmas shopping now though, you'll be able to stop by a huge favorite in the food court area. Charleys Philly Steaks originally opened at the Apache Mall in 2016. Earlier this year, a court-filed eviction settlement was filed requiring Charleys to vacate the mall by May 5th, 2025.
