Faribault Lakers Roll into 4th of July Break
The Faribault Lakers defeated River Falls 10-5 in Wisconsin tonight to go into their mini-break over the 4th of July with a 4-game winning streak.
Xander Fitzsimmons doubled and tripled for 4-RBI in the victory in the Dairy State.
River Falls scored first and had another lead before the Lakers scored 7 runs in the 5th inning on 5 hits for a 9-4 lead they would not relinquish.
Adam Kline started the game on the mound for Faribault and earned the win while throwing 7 innings. He allowed 4 earned runs in 10 hits, struck out 5 and walked no batters. Nick Rost threw the last two innings giving up 2 hits, 1 run with a walk and a strikeout.
Kline threw 101 pitches, 68 strikes. Rost finished with 43 pitches, 26 strikes,
Aiden Tobin had 2 hits, Nick Rost 2 hits, Joe Grote a hit and 2 RBI, Jake Petricka a 2-run single.
Faribault had 10 hits and no errors while River Falls finished with 12 hits and 2 errors.
The Lakers had no errors while River Falls finished with 2 miscues in the game which moved Faribault to a 12-7 record. They are off until Wednesday when they host Veseli at 7:30 p.m.
Faribault has six players hitting over .300 with nine enjoying double digit hits after 19 games.
The team ERA is 2.37 with an opponent batting average of .228 against Lakers pitching.
