EXTREME HEAT WARNING REMAINS IN EFFECT FROM 8 AM THIS MORNING TO 9 PM CDT TUESDAY...
* WHAT...Dangerously hot conditions with heat index values up to 109 expected. *
WHERE...Portions of north central and northeast Iowa, southeast Minnesota and central, southwest and west central Wisconsin.
* WHEN...From 8 AM this morning to 9 PM CDT Tuesday.
* IMPACTS...Extreme heat and humidity will significantly increase the potential for heat related illnesses, particularly for those working or participating in outdoor activities.
PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS... Drink plenty of fluids, stay in an air-conditioned room, stay out of the sun, and check up on relatives and neighbors. Do not leave young children and pets in unattended vehicles. .
Car interiors will reach lethal temperatures in a matter of minutes. Stay cool, stay hydrated, stay informed.
