Pine Island, MN (KROC-AM News)- A crash on a slick Hwy. 52 sent a semi truck driver to the hospital Monday morning.

First responders were called to the scene shortly before 7 a.m. 

It was one of more than 400 crashes reported across Minnesota as blizzard conditions pounded the state.

Trucker Taken to Hospital After Semi Slides Down Embankment Along Hwy. 52 in Pine Island

The crash occurred along southbound Hwy. 52 just south of the County Rd. 11 interchange in Pine Island.

The large vehicle had left the freeway and rolled down an embankment, the Pine Island Fire Department says. 

Emergency crews found the driver suffering from injuries. He was freed from the vehicle and taken to the emergency room at St. Mary’s Hospital. 

The truck driver’s name and description of his condition have not been released. 

The State Patrol, Zumbrota Area Ambulance, and Goodhue County Sheriff's Office also responded to the crash.
