Rochester Public Library Celebrates New Baby Play Space
Rochester, MN (KROC-AM News) - The Rochester Public Library has scheduled a grand opening event Monday morning for a new nature-themed baby play area.
A news release issued by the library and the Rochester Public Library Foundation says the new play area in the Youth Services Play Spot is "designed specifically for babies and their caregivers, providing a safe, engaging environment that fosters early learning, play, and connection."
“This new play area reflects our library’s commitment to supporting families and building strong foundations for lifelong learning,” said Library Director Karen Lemke. “We are thrilled to welcome our youngest community members and their families to this beautiful, nature-inspired space.”

Minnesota Energy Resources Grant Helps Fund Play Space
The statement says the new facility was made possible through funding provided by the foundation and additional support from a grant awarded by Minnesota Energy Resources.
“We are deeply grateful to Minnesota Energy Resources for their generous partnership in enriching the library’s play space, and to the many community members whose gifts strengthen literacy and lifelong learning for all. Their generosity is an inspiring reminder of the impact businesses and individuals can have when they invest in our library,” said RPLF Executive Director Brenda Kardock.
Grand Opening Event Features Baby Gym and Ribbon Cutting
The grand opening celebration begins with a Baby Gym program in the Library Auditorium at 10:30 AM. The Rochester Area Chamber of Commerce will conduct a ribbon-cutting ceremony with a proclamation from Mayor Kim Norton at 10:45 AM, followed by refreshments.
