Rochester Man Sentenced to 12 Years for Sexually Assaulting Girl

Rochester, MN (KROC-AM News) - A Rochester man has been sentenced to 12 years in prison for sexually assaulting a young girl throughout most of her childhood.

Dailey Convicted on Two Counts of Criminal Sexual Conduct

Fifty-five-year-old David Shane Dailey went before an Olmsted County judge Wednesday afternoon to receive his sentence for his conviction on two counts of first-degree criminal sexual conduct. Dailey, who recently lived in Casper, Wyoming, was found guilty of the crimes during a trial held in June.

Victim Reported Repeated Sexual Assaults

According to the charges, Dailey became the target of an investigation by the Olmsted County Sheriff's Office in the fall of 2022. The criminal complaint says investigators were contacted by the victim, who told them she had been sexually assaulted as often as twice a week beginning when she was a toddler.

The court document also says the victim alleged that Dailey would make her watch sexually explicit videos and enter messages in child sexual abuse-themed chat rooms on his computer.

Previously Convicted in Wabasha County

Minnesota court records indicate that Dailey was convicted of fourth-degree criminal sexual conduct in Wabasha County crime in 2008. In that case, he was sentenced to three months in jail but was given credit for the 65 days he spent in jail following his arrest.
