Rochester Man Sentenced After Fentanyl, Gun Investigation
Rochester, MN (KROC-AM News) - A man accused of pointing a handgun at another man during an altercation at a southeast Rochester apartment complex that led to the discovery of nearly 500 fentanyl pills has been sentenced to jail and probation.
Rochester Man Sentenced in Drug Case
38-year-old Shueb Abshir Noor entered into a plea agreement earlier this year and admitted to a second-degree drug possession charge in exchange for the dismissal of a second-degree assault charge and a second-degree riot charge involving a dangerous weapon. The Rochester man was sentenced this week to one year in jail, with credit for the 202 days he has already spent in jail, and five years of probation. He was also given a stayed 48-month prison sentence that could be imposed if he does not successfully complete probation.

Court Records Detail Drug Conviction
According to the charges, Noor was arrested in April 2023 after Rochester police responded to the Meadow Park apartment complex following a report of an altercation involving a firearm. Responding officers met with a man who told them he was walking his daughter home from school when he was assaulted by three men.

Gun Complaint Led to Fentanyl Discovery
The criminal complaint says the victim was punched by the men and was then chased as he and his daughter fled to their nearby apartment. The victim told police his attackers were kicking and pounding on the door, and when he briefly opened it, Noor pointed a black-and-gold handgun at him.

The court document indicates officers located the three suspects in another apartment within the same complex. A search warrant was executed, leading to the discovery of a black-and-gold handgun in a closet, as well as hundreds of fentanyl pills.
