Wabasha, MN (KROC-AM News)- Two motorcyclists were injured in a pair of separate crashes in southeast Minnesota over the weekend. 

Two Motorcyclists Injured in Wabasha County Crashes Sunday Afternoon

Both crashes happened in Wabasha County on Sunday. The first was reported shortly before 2 p.m. and the second happened just after 5:30 p.m.

One of the crashes involved a pickup. The motorcyclist was the sole person involved in the other crash.

Mabel Motorcyclist Injured in Collision with Pickup on Hwy. 60

Sunday’s first crash occurred at the intersection of Hwy. 60 and Wabasha County Rd. 13, which is about 16 miles southwest of Wabasha.

The State Patrol says the motorcycle was traveling west and the pickup was eastbound when the two collided on Hwy. 60. 

68-year-old Robert Wayne Thompson of Mabel was identified as the motorcyclist. He was taken to a hospital in Lake City with non-life-threatening injuries, according to the State Patrol. 

64-year-old John Steven Kingsley of Zumbro Falls was driving the pickup. The State Patrol says he and his passenger were not hurt.

Thompson was not wearing a helmet and alcohol was not involved in the collision, the state crash report says.

The Lake City Fire Department, Wabasha Fire Department, Wabasha EMS and the Wabasha County Sheriff’s Office also responded to the crash. 

Mayo One Helicopter Responds to Wabasha County Motorcycle Crash

Mayo One Helicopter responded to Sunday’s second motorcycle crash. 

The State Patrol says 37-year-old Ryan Scott Fatturi of Minneapolis was traveling west on Hwy. 60 when he left the two-lane highway and crashed about seven miles southwest of Wabasha. 

He was taken to a Mayo Clinic Hospital. The state crash report indicates he was wearing a helmet and that alcohol was not involved in the crash. 

The Wabasha County Sheriff’s Office and Wabasha EMS also responded to the scene.
