Update: The BCA reported Tuesday evening that Morgan Nelson was found safe.

Previous version: Jasper, MN (KROC-AM News) - A statewide missing person alert has been issued for a man who went missing yesterday after he left his home in a tiny southwestern Minnesota community.

The Minnesota Bureau of Criminal Apprehension says the Pipestone County Sheriff's Office is requesting the public's assistance in locating 40-year-old Morgan Nelson. On news release says his last contact with his family was yesterday morning when he left his residence in Jasper.

He did not take his cell phone and his destination and direction of travel are not known. Pipestone County officials say it's believed he was driving a maroon 2004 Ford F150 pickup truck with Minnesota license plate KSU034.

Nelson is described as white, about 5'9" tall, 200 pounds, with brown hair and hazel eyes. He currently has a goatee/beard
