Update: Arrest Made in Rochester Jewelry Store Smash & Grab Burglary

Rochester, MN (KROC-AM News)- Police are investigating a smash-and-grab burglary that occurred over the weekend at a Rochester jewelry store.

Rochester Police Department Communications Coordinator Amanda Grayson says officers responded to an alarm call at the shop around 1:45 Sunday morning. The suspect was captured on video. 

The burglary occurred at Lasker Jewelers in the 100 block of 1st Ave. Southwest in downtown Rochester.

Responding officers found the business’s front doors had been broken and a smashed jewelry case inside of the shop, Grayson said.

Officers also saw several pieces of jewelry on the ground. Grayson said footage captured by a video camera at the scene shows a male wearing a black jacket and white face mask running from the store. 

Police did not indicate whether or not anything was stolen from the shop. An estimate of damage done to the business is not available. 

Authorities are asking anyone with information regarding the burglary to contact Rochester Police Detective Rademacher at 507-328-2733.
